On February 15th, Cal Newport, author of How to Become a Straight-A Student and How to Win at College, will present three unconventional student success concepts adopted from the academic performance practices of high-achieving Phi Beta Kappa students at Ivy-League schools to Phi Theta Kappa in a High Definition webcast exclusively to the participating chapters in the 2011-2012 Texas Regional Project, teaching the students at your college how to learn effectively, defeat procrastination, and how to simply enjoy their college experience. We call it Study 30 Minutes a Day, Get a 4.0 GPA!.

Cal Newport is a 29-year old assistant professor of computer science at Georgetown University. He used these performance strategies outlined in his aforementioned books to earn thirty-six straight-A’s in a row, earning him degrees from Dartmouth College and MIT. He is the leading expert on what it really takes to dominate and enjoy college.

We believe an emphasis on prepping nonmembers can be translated into a substantial return on investment – increased membership in Phi Theta Kappa and increased revenue for local chapters – a need that has been expressed in these challenging economic times.

For a three-minute review of the project, please view our video on Youtube here: http://youtu.be/Jmfy71HuOCM

The 2011-2012 Texas Regional Officers are looking forward to seeing your region prosper by leaps and bounds with Study 30 Minutes a Day, Get a 4.0 GPA!.
